Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
I know what it’s like to be fearful and in pain and have no clue what to do and wonder if anything will ever be okay. This is an ongoing part of being human, and I’m committed to cultivating the curiosity, courage, and connection it takes to get through. I once surveyed my friends and family what they see as my top three strengths (it was a terrifying ask!), and the most frequently repeated responses were: compassion/kindness, intelligence, and courage/resilience. These are the strengths I bring to my clients and our work. I view my role as a counselor not as one who “fixes problems” but as one who comes alongside to share observations, give feedback, and offer support and challenge.
Clients value that I am gentle, down-to-earth, funny, and flexible. Clients appreciate that I welcome them as they are and name strengths they may not initially see. Clients are grateful when I help them to better understand not only themselves but also the contexts that contribute to their struggles.
I am warm and welcoming of people from all walks of life. I’m slow-paced, intentionally, because I believe that slow is fast and less is more. I believe in growth and development across the lifespan and that we are *always* in the process of becoming. I am thoughtful and love to read, and can bring to mind a lot of skills and stories from varied sources. I’m also artsy and creative, and love to adapt metaphors and strategies that apply uniquely and directly to clients’ lives. I’ve learned how to stay with emotions and in the body, which people often shy away from on their own but is an important way to gain balance. With more than a decade of experience and extensive training as a therapist, I am passionate about highlighting women’s voices and stories and feelings.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my daughter and our greyhound, Stitch. I enjoy reading, writing, art, music, all things crafty, and getting outside to see the beauty of the natural world.
